Dr Anna Kelly

MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Anna Kelly joined the team at Hurstbridge Medical Centre in 2007 and yes, she is the daughter of Dr Paul Kelly, the founding member of the clinic. She graduated from The University of Melbourne in 1998 and spent the next few years working in hospitals including the Austin, The Northern, Westmead (Sydney) and The Royal Darwin Hospital in a variety of subspecialties such as Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Psychiatry and Orthopaedics. She obtained her Fellowship of General Practice in 2003.

Anna loves being a GP. She has a particular interest in Mental Health management, Preventative medicine, Chronic disease management, Paediatrics, Aged Care and Acute Care. She is also keen to teach and is the primary clinical supervisor for our GP registrars.
Anna lives locally with her 3 children and her husband. When she is not working she enjoys watching comedy and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Kristen Macaulay

MBBS, RANZCOG Dip.Obs.

Kristen is a female general practitioner who studied at Monash University, graduating in 1986. She is accredited for ante-natal shared care with Mercy Hospital for Women, Royal Women's, Northern and Box Hill.

Kristen has three children and currently works part-time.
While interested and enjoying all facets of health care, she particularly enjoys looking after families, children and women.

Dr Eden Shih

MBChB, FRACGP

Dr Eden Shih graduated from medical school in Hong Kong in 1990 and received his Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2008. He joined our team in 2012.

Eden has a passion for dermatology. He is experienced in skin lesion procedures including cryotherapy, skin biopsy and excisions, as well as skin cancer checks. In 2004, he received his Master of Science in Clinical Dermatology from London University. In addition, he was gained his Diploma in Practical Dermatology from the University of Wales College of Medicine, UK in 2003 and Diploma in Dermatology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, UK in 2005 and has recently completed a Professional Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine from HealthCert.

Apart from English, he is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing Frisbee and sipping coffee at quality cafes!

Dr Tiro Othomile

MBBS, FRACGP

Tiro joined  HMC in 2020 and has become a valued colleague and team member. He graduated from Monash university Medical school in 2013 and then undertook his internship in Wangaratta. He completed rotations in general medicine, emergency medicine, paediatrics, orthopaedics, oncology and aged care, before obtaining his Fellowship of General Practice.

General practice was always the plan for Tiro as he enjoys the varied nature of the work and being a part of a community. He has a particular interest in Men’s Health, Chronic Disease Prevention & Management, Mental Health, Paediatrics, Minor skin procedures and Wedge resections of toenails, Skin and Spot checks and Aged Care. He will also be taking over from Dr Paul Kelly in the care of the residents at the local Aged Care facility.

Tiro has lived in the local area with his partner (also a GP) since 2019. Outside of work he is a bit of a rev-head- 4 wheel drives are his vehicle of choice. He also enjoys cycling and listening to podcasts to broaden his mind. 

Dr Amy Doyle

MBBS, BBiomedSc, DRANZCOG, DCH, FRACGP

Amy is currently on Maternity Leave

Dr Amy Doyle completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Monash University prior to graduating from Medical School at The University of Melbourne in 2011. She worked across Austin Health, The Northern Hospital and Mercy Hospital for Women prior to obtaining her fellowship in General Practice in 2017. In addition, Amy has completed a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Diploma of Child Health. She is also accredited for maternal shared care. 

Amy has lived in the North East suburbs of Melbourne for most of her life. She lives locally with her young family. Outside of work Amy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, staying active and exploring new restaurants.

She enjoys all aspects of General Practice, with particular interest in women’s and children’s health, preventative medicine and minor procedures.

Dr Leena Mathews

MBBS , FRACGP 

Dr. Leena graduated from Medical School in 2009 from Thribhuvan University, Nepal. She has worked for few years In Nepal and India, then started working in various hospitals in Brisbane from 2014. 

She enjoys all aspects of general practice, especially women's health, preventative medicine, Chronic disease management and paediactrics. 

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, baking and music. 

Dr Victoria Smith

MBBS (HONS) ,BBMedSci, FRACGP 

Dr Victoria Smith completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Monash University and then proceeded to study Medicine, also at Monash University. She graduated in 2015. Since graduation she has worked in a variety of areas including general medicine, general surgery, emergency, gynaecology and obstetrics, geriatrics, psychiatry and addiction medicine at Sunshine, Footscray and Albury Hospitals. Her heart has always, however, been in general practice and she completed her GP training in 2020. As a GP she has worked in various settings including community health, family planning and sexual health and Indigenous health. She particularly enjoys women's and children's health and preventative medicine. Victoria aims to provide trauma-informed care and subscribes to a 'Health At Every Size' philosophy which promotes a weight-neutral approach to health care.

In her spare time Victoria enjoys spending time with her young family and her exuberant border collie, reading, good coffee and exploring the great outdoors.


Dr Nahkita Wolfe (she/her)

MBBS (Hons), BMedSc (Hons), FRACGP

Nahkita grew up in Gippsland and relocated to Melbourne to study medicine, graduating from Monash University in 2016. She trained in both metropolitan and rural hospitals, before settling on a career in General Practice.

Nahkita is passionate about providing safe and inclusive care to adolescents and young adults, the queer community, and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community. She has completed advanced training in sexual health and in trans and gender-diverse care. Nahkita also has an interest in the assessment and management of pelvic and vulval pain, menopause, chronic disease management, and preventative healthcare.

Having recently moved to the area, Nahkita is excited to work within the local community. Outside of work, she is an avid amateur footballer – her love for footy eclipsed only by love for her Golden Retriever Bailey, and Great Dane puppy Donnie.

 

 

Dr Rebecca Xu

Rebecca is a GP Registrar. 

Dr Rebecca Xu graduated from Monash University in 2016 after which she completed internship at Monash Health. Following that she has worked in a variety of hospitals in Australia including metropolitan and rural Victoria, Canberra and Darwin and has a broad range of experience amongst various subspecialties of medicine. Rebecca enjoys travelling and cycling in her spare time.

 

 

Dr Ibraham Barakat

 

Dr Ibraham Barakat graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Melbourne in 2014. He has had an extensive career in several fields of medicine including rotations in internal medicine, cardiology, paediatrics, emergency medicine, ophthalmology and ear and nose surgery with the majority of his training completed at Bendigo Hospital, Box Hill Hospital and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. In 2023 he gained fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

  Dr Barakat has an interest in all fields of general practice but has an added passion for eye and ear problems and complex medical issues including diabetes and cardiac medicine. His training includes ear microsuction- a specialised technique to manage external ear blockages and infections safely.

  Outside of medicine he enjoys mountain bike riding and is a keen fisherman (both saltwater and fly fishing).

 

 

Dr Paul Kelly

Practice Owner

Dr Paul Kelly co founded the Hurstbridge Medical Centre in September 1977, under the auspices of Dr Don Cordner of Diamond Creek, at the site of the current Vet clinic. Three years later, the practice moved to its present site, had two renovations and voila. Although some personnel  have changed over the years with the buildings, the commitment to provide excellent medical care to Hurstbridge and surrounds remains paramount.
Paul has now retired and Dr Tiro has succeeded him at Estia Health Wattle Glen.
Anna is one of four children whom have gifted Paul and wife Helen with eleven grandchildren.

Dr Gerard Mangan

Practice Owner

Dr Mangan graduated from Melbourne University in 1976. He spent the next four years in hospital posts, with specific training in geriatrics and obstetrics and then entered General Practice in Ballarat.

He joined the Hurstbridge Medical Centre in 1984 and has special interest in asthma skin cancer and travel medicine.
